Tips for proper use

  • Remove all labels with cooking oil before use.
  • Choose a cooker for your pots with the right diameter to prevent energy loss.
  • Never heat enamel pans without content (water, oil, butter) and make sure that the liquid never completely evaporates. This can lead to overheating and damage to your pan. The highest recommended temperature for cooking and frying is 220 °C.
  • Cook with less heat than usual as email conducts heat quickly into bottom and sides. Your dishes will be cooked gently and therefor maintain the nutrients and improve the taste experience. In addition, you will avoid the risk of burning the food, it reduces power consumption and extends the sustainability of the pans.
  • Lower the temperature on time taking the cooking process into account. When cooking with hot oil/frying fat there is a risk of inflammation.
  • Do not let small children unattended near hot stoves and pans.
  • Always use a dry cloth to grab handles and lids. The core is quickly hot because it is made of iron. Most of our products have handles and lids of enamel and can also be used in the oven.
  • Enamel is very hard. However the impact of hard objects on the ground surface, hard punches or forceful tapping with metal kitchenware against the edge could result in cracking of the glass surface.
  • It is only visually disturbing if despite all care the paint on the outside is flaking off. You can still prepare your dishes with the product. When however the enamel on the inside flakes off we recommend to replace the product because the optimum hygiene is no longer guaranteed.

User tips especially for the omelette pan of Riess

The omelette pan differs in its instructions for use from other Riess pans.

Content will slightly stick because Riess pans do not have a non-stick coating. That's the old-fashioned way of baking. The content will stick less to its pan when you follow these instructions which are especially applicable to the omelette pan. First heat the pan with high flames letting the oil or butter get hot. The intense heat will burn or scorch the surface. Now add the egg into the pan and turn the heat lower right away.

Some sticking will remain a possibility in enamel pans due to the absence of the non-stick coating. However, you will achieve more success with these instructions when frying your eggs. The main advantage of not having a non-stick coating is that it emits no substances (of a coating) that will go into your food. The surface is very smooth and non-porous. It's a healthier way of cooking, the food stays clean and with pure flavours.

Never heat enamel pans without content (water, oil, butter) and make sure that the liquid never evaporates completely. This can lead to overheating and damage to your pan. The maximum recommended temperature for cooking and frying is 220 °C. When cooking on induction please note that the temperature rises faster than with other heating options.
